My thoughts...
"*Cricket Cricket* That's how I finished the book."- Lite-Rate-Ture Reviews
Short review due to intense book reviews to write.
I had expected so much from Ashes, Ashes. This is a thumbs down kind of book. I'm not even sure what to write because I feel totally empty as in nothing at all. After reading Ashes, Ashes, I just told myself "what the hell was that?" and that's not a good sign. The first problem I had with AA is the style of the author, she was moving too slow and uncomfortable. Her way of writing displeased me because I couldn't understand anything and even her imagery wasn't enough for me to imagine the whole premises. The reason I even picked up the book was because of the apocalyptic theme of the synopsis then nothing actually happened. This story wasn't much of an action-packed, it would belong more on the boring and stupid section. I felt nothing, but sighs.
That's not the only problem of the story, the design of the book was unprofessional. This uncomely design might have pushed away some of the interested readers, the success of the book-wait never mind, there is no success in this book. Everything was displeasing. The fonts didn't have the same color because some were bold letters, and the pages didn't even stick to the spine, it looked like it was going to break any moment. UGH! The characters weren't even strong or becoming. Not much was going on the story, I have no idea how I finished this book in 3 days in school. What I expected was something grasping and strong. *Cricket Cricket* I have no idea how to write a good negative review for this book because the story was so dull it made me silent for a few moments. I am reminiscing my experience when I read this. Nope nothing.
The author should really improve on her writing style. She should lessen her words and create a better and more emotional characters. Jo should have also added some background on each character than letting them hold a knife and writing them as the sexy and courageous. There was nothing courageous about this book, but it was noble. The main character wasn't much of a character at all she was just there in ink. I could hardly remember her name even if she was on all the pages of the book she was hardly even in my mind. How the hell does that happen? I am trying to control my emo-ness about this book. If I were you I'd decide to pass on this book because it's not as apocalyptic as it said in the summary.
