Blog Tour: No Attachments by Tiffany King

Ashton Garrison walked away from a privileged life in order to hide from the one thing she's not willing to face. She knows she left behind a trail of pain, but in the long run, her betrayal will hurt less than the truth. She now has one goal: Live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. She has high hopes that a move to new surroundings will provide the escape she desires, but what Ashton doesn't count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan. Sometimes, when love comes knocking, the pull is too strong not to answer. Suddenly, what she thought she wanted to escape from is what Ashton now wants more than anything.

Nathan Lockton has one mission: find his target and complete the task he was hired to do—no attachments and no emotion necessary. He's done it over and over again. What he thought was a typical lost-and-found job has turned into a life examining moment as Nathan is forced to deal with something he has always ignored--his feelings. Now faced with a decision, Nathan must choose to either follow his heart or complete the job.

Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: If the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?

Review:

My thoughts...

I really enjoyed reading this book. The pace and romance were just right for me, and I am awestruck on  how the author was able to slowly make her characters fall for each other, even if at first they were only attracted to one another because of their own selfish reasons. It was hard to put this book down, with all the crazy, romantic, and "eeeeeep" moments between Nathan and Ashton. These moments were a big highlight of the story, and I just kept reading on and on and on.

There was suspense too, with Ashton's secret on why she left her old life, and that Nathan had a hidden agenda, which all in all made the story even more mysterious. Each chapter made me even more curious as to what they were hiding, and for me, this made the book an even more delightful read. In the end, I was pleased to see that both Ash and Nathan were able to reveal their hidden secrets to one another, and established a relationship filled with trust and love.

Another thing I enjoyed about the book was the friendships Ashton had with Tressa, Fran, and Brittni.
I liked how they supported her and cared for her. Also, I found Ashton's bucket list very intriguing, because it looked like she was very, very determined to finish it. I suspected that she was hiding something very important from Nathan, but when he found out about this secret, he did not leave her alone, but stayed by her side all throughout. For me, this just shows that Nathan is a really selfless guy, and we can see that his love for Ashton is overflowing. There were also moments in the book which made me giddy, because of the cute, memorable, and humorous instances between Nathan and Ashton.

No Attachments is a book wherein you'll find a beautiful romance, and sometimes inspiration. For me, I find this book well-written and in a pace not too fast. The plot is amazing, and is not like that of other books. Ashton and Nathan wanted their relationship to have "no attachments", but they slowly became in love with each other. No Attachments is a very addicting read, making me laugh, get teary-eyed, and just intrigue me with some plot twists, jokes, and emotional moments.

I give this book a superb 4 stars!

Character Interview Questions:

1. Nathan, when did you realize that you loved Ash? Were you surprised about your feelings for her?

I’m not sure I can pinpoint the exact moment I fell in love with her. It was a dozen little things that make her the person she is. Like the way her nose crinkles up when she smells something she doesn’t like or the way she looks at the world like everything about it amazes and captivates her.

2. Ash, did you ever think twice about breaking your vow of "no attachments" with Nathan?

Ha, I thought about it more than twice, but I tried to keep those thoughts at bay. Nathan had a way of wearing me down. He made me believe that maybe, just maybe, we did have a chance for a future. Of course, it didn’t hurt that he was swoon worthy.

3. Nathan, when did you learn that you are fond of cats?

When Fred showed up on my doorstep four years ago. I never gave cats much thought before that. He was soaking wet and seemed way too tiny to be on his own. The bowl of warm milk I served him that night was all it took for him to claim me as his human. I guess you could say my fondness for cats should be credited all to Fred.

4. Charles, how did Nathan persuade you to go deep sea fishing with him? Do you enjoy it?

Regardless of how the events in Woodfalls transpired, I still felt sorry for the sap. I could tell instantly that there was a connection between Ashton and Nathan. It was obvious he was hurting over the whole situation. When he came around, I considered knocking his dick in the dirt for a moment, but I couldn’t help taking pity on the poor bastard. As for the fishing, who knew some stick with a worm dangling off the end of it would be so rewarding.

5. Fran, what was your reaction when Ash told you about her deepest darkest secret?

I was shocked, and believe me, I know a lot of deep secrets from this small town. Still, from the moment she came around, I could see something special about this young lady. My old heart hurt for her, but she’s a strong one.

6. Tressa, did you ever regret not going to Nathan when you first saw him at the bar?

Parts of me did. Okay, I'm kidding, maybe. Anyway, I saw the way Ashton was looking at him. That night was about her not me. Besides, Nathan is way too straight-laced for me.

7. Ash, what would be something you would like to get from Nathan?

Hmmm, well, not his booby collection. Sorry, that's an inside joke you'll understand later. I would have to say his love and trust. That's so cliché, I know, but really that is all I really want from him. Our relationship started based on deception, but already, we know each other's vulnerably so trust is a must.
8. Ash and Nathan, do you have plans of marrying (haha) and living permanently in Woodfalls?

Well, we would hate to give any spoilers. You’ll just have to wait to see how everything turns out.

9. Charles, did you ever dream of a future with another woman? Maybe Fran? (Hehe)

I’m not sure if the old ticker can handle a woman like Fran, but it sure would be interesting to try.

10. Nathan, what's your favorite food?

I’m a pizza kind of guy.

11. Ash, do you still plan on becoming a psychologist? Or do you have another job in mind?
It is definitely something I would like to pursue. I’ll just have to see how everything pans out.

12. Tressa, do you think Nathan is good for Ash?

I think he’s the perfect guy for her. He seems to really understand her, and they both have the same cheesy sense of humor.
13. Ash and Charles, what do you miss most about your mother/wife?

Her laugh. It was one of those contagious kinds of laughs that pulled at you until you couldn’t help joining in. There are a ton of other little things that make my heart ache now to think about. She loved Diet Coke, but never ever finished a can. You could walk around the house throughout the course of a day and find five or six more than half-full cans. And when you would try to call her on it, she would just say "Oh, that's not fresh anymore."

14. Nathan, which moment with Ash do you consider the most pleasurable?

I know I should give you something dirty since I'm the guy, but I'll accept the totally pussy-whipped title and admit that every moment I spend in her arms is pleasurable. Really, it's the conversations. I could sit all day and just listen to her talk. She has a way of pulling me in.
