Review: The Evolution Of Mara Dyer

The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #2)Mara Dyer once believed she could run from her past.
 She can’t.

She used to think her problems were all in her head.

They aren’t.

She couldn’t imagine that after everything she’s been through, the boy she loves would still be keeping secrets.

She’s wrong.

In this gripping sequel to The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, the truth evolves and choices prove deadly. What will become of Mara Dyer next?

Michelle Hodkin strikes again with  a more complex plot. She was able to control the horrific scenes so well that it didn't make me want to stop reading, usually when I read scenes that are really scary I would stop reading because I get traumatized easily. This book definitely deserves a great review. I really don't know what to say, I'm speechless.

After turning to the last page of the book, I screamed "Fuck!*Parents glare at me* I mean what..?" I  needed more than 500 pages. I didn't want it to end :((

In the first book we were given a torturous cliffhanger. I'm sure you fans know what I'm talking about. No one scares me like Jude does, most of the action in the story revolves around him. Is he real or not? Did he really die or not? All I know is that I'm not telling you hehe

In The Evolution of Mara Dyer, this time Mara is now having more nightmares that she denies to be memories. She learns more about her grandmother in the process and something tells me there's more to her family tree than meets the eye. Sadly I still haven't learned about what Mara really is, but  Michelle Hodkin really makes me tense, I'm dying here. I practically biting my arm.

Reading this book really gave me the heebie-jeebies! This book totally rocked it. It includes scary dolls(With actual human hair), Bloody mirrors, creepy memories, more hallucinations and sadly there is a traitor among these pages. :(

I am still glued to my seat, I am overwhelmed just by staring at the cover. Michelle Hodkin even added a perilous romance (Giggling) No amount of pages will satisfy me. You will love Noah more in this book. Noah also evolves with Mara in the story. It was kinda a disappointment in the 1st book when Noah is just annoyingly perfect, it was unreal to me. Don't get me wrong...I still "Love" Noah, but in the 2nd book, I am obsessed with him. He becomes sweeter and braver for Mara. The bloody romance in this story really makes you want to die from frustration. Noah still believes that Mara is still a frightened kitten. (I don't doubt that they have mutual feelings)

Boys are stupid and girls are trouble (A quote I learned from the book)

Aside from the creepiness of this story, the thrill and mystery will just make you think and when you finally get the answer you will be like "I did not see that coming..." This story is not cliche at all. It was Über-awesome. Although I didn't get all the answers I needed but there is no doubt about the romance in this story. Oh! I almost forgot about Jamie coming back :) Just a little encouragement to why you should read this right NOW!

There is also a new character that will be introduced to you in the book, her name is Phoebe. She is the new bitch in town, even more bitchy than Claire and Anna. I wanted her so badly to get raped ugh! I hate her so much! Michelle really knows how to handle her readers LOL She really makes me more emotional

To those who love the first book, you will DIE for the next one. Just a tip! Read this book alone :) it will give you a more enticing ride. Unless you're a chicken ;)

I gave the first book 4 stars, I think that was a mistake LOL this time I'm giving 5 stars to Evolution.  I would give more but the maximum is 5 huhuhu.

stay tuned,

  1. I absolutely LOVED Evolution! It left me speechless and I've been having an insanely difficult time writing a review because words are just not enough. Evolution made me appreciate Noah and Mara's relationship even more, they were each other's rock and their trust for each other was also strengthened. The only problem I had with this book is that it had a cliffhanger ending because there wasn't even supposed to be a third book, thank God there is, but if there hadn't been, where would we have been left at? Haha! That's all. Great review!

    1. I had the same thought, I was lost in words, I just couldn't stop reading. Noah and Mara's relationship went up another level and the plot just got more twisted which was alluring. Cliffhangers are just the most deadly weapons of a great author. Definitely a page turner. :)) I'm glad you liked it.
