Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.
After reading the covenant series I wanted to know more about Jennifer Armentrout so I did a bit of stalking. :) I found out she wrote more books and I chose to read Obsidian of course. I don't know why I'm soooo attracted to the cover even though my friends keep telling the cover is not how they imagined Daemon would be. Oh my Goddess! Daemon is just someone that you won't glance at, he is someone worth having and worth stealing from Katy. Such a sweet girl, all claws but no bite. ;) I just can't get enough of their sweet love-hate relationship. Just like what Dee said "The I hate you, but I want you look,".
On to my review...
The story revolves around a kitty cat called Katy who just moved in beside Daemon and Dee's place and well...Daemon doesn't seem to like the idea of having a girl as a neighbor, but unfortunately Dee's seems to be so psyched about having a girl as a friend as a "normal" friend. They don't take normal very well. No one can resist Dee because she's just like a ball of sunshine to Katy. So sweet and innocent unlike the dickhead of a brother, Daemon, the very sexy Daemon...the irresistible Daemon...I should stop LOL
When Katy got too close to Dee... she just got herself involved with the wrong family. She never knew that she would fall in love. HARD. And she never expected to be saved by something unexpectedly unearthly. Not everything in this town is normal. Triplets and twins moving in at the same time and same place, how the hell is that possible. Something must be up...
Is it possible to love such a bad ass character? Daemon is just too yummy! Yes, he is very obnoxious, but his love for his sister is admirable. I wish my brothers would do that for me... :)) Not everything went according to Daemon's perfect plan. Katy just ruined his perfect life and he would just do about anything just to get rid of her. Including the flirting part, the bullying part, the saving part....well not really the saving part.Daemon's arrogance didn't make Katy leave, but it went the other way around. Katy is just as stubborn as him. She could be the biggest challenge Daemon has ever faced. Who will win this battle? I don't see Katy backing down neither is Daemon. Aren't they a match made in heaven? Although there were times when I just wanted to slap Daemon's pretty face, I didn't want to crumple such a trophy/book.
*Luxens are the aliens so called Daemon and Dee, really hot and powerful.
*Arums are also aliens but less hot and more evil and extremely dangerous.
That's not all...the Arums are Luxen's worst enemy and they want Daemon dead. They are well aware of Daemon's weakness, and that could be the key to killing him and endangering Kat, and the end of the race of Luxens.
This books is full of lust, action, supernatural, hot guys, swimsuits, vengeance, power, envy, mystery, lies and a lot of lips.
Jennifer even added Daemon POVs and I was like OMG I HEART you! <3<3<3
What an awesome turn of events! I couldn't put this book down. I slowly read the page when I only has 100 pages left. It was just that good that you wouldn't want to finish it. It was booktastic! Jennifer has to keep writing supernatural stories like these. Oh my goddess! If you see this book, don't hesitate. Grab it immediately before someone else does. I am not kidding :| It was that good.
This book deserves ....
