I'm not in a good mood today after what happened just a few hours ago so it won't be as much as I wanted it to be. >:(
On to my review...
Favorite scene:
"You don't have anything to worry about, Alex. I'm not going to let anything happen to you"
Those forbidden words wrapped around my heart, forever etching into my soul. Our eyes met. Silence stretched between us as we started at each other. His fingers drifted from my hair and slowly traced the curve of my cheekbone. My pulse thrummed through me as his intense stare followed his fingertips.
We shouldn't be doing this. He was a pure-blood. Everything could come to a crashing end for us if we were caught, but it didn't matter. Right now being with him seemed worth whatever consequences could come from it. This was right, like it was meant to be. There was no logical explanation.
The he leaned forward and rested his cheek against mine. Hot tingles spread through me as his lips moved against my ear. "You should tell me to stop"
I didn't say a word.
He moved ever so slightly, and his lips brushed across mine once, and then twice. It was such a soft, beautiful kiss, but when the kiss deepened, it wasn't a shy one. This was one of dangerously pent-up need, a desire that'd been denied far too long. The kiss felt fierce, demanding, and soul burning.
Aiden pulled me to him, pressing me right up against his body. And when he kissed me again, it left both of us breathless. Our hands tangled with each other's bodies as we made it back to his bedroom. My hands found their way under his shirt and over the taut skin of his sides. We separated long enough for me to get the shirt off, and gods, each hard ripple was breathtaking as I'd imagined.
Easing me down on his bed, his hands glided from my face to my arms. Nest his hand traveled over my stomach, then my hip, and under the hem of my dress. Somehow, the top of my dress ended up at my waist, and his mouth moved over my body. I melted into him, his kisses and his touch. My fingers dug into the tight skin of his arms, and my insides were in tight coils.
His gaze and fingers followed and some unseen path as rolled me on top. "You're so beautiful. So brave, so full of life." He guided my head down and dropped a sweet kiss against the scar on my neck. "You have no idea, do you?" You have so much life in you, so much."
"Really?"
"Yes."
Aiden lifted his head, staring down at me with that question in his eyes. "Do you trust me?"
I ran my fingers over his cheek, then his parted lips. Then I said ........
*I don't want to spoil.*
Alex
She was always a promising character. I agree with Aiden that she's full of life. I can't imagine her beautiful since the author only described her with words which I can't trust LOL. She sounds beautiful when Aiden talks about her so I guess she's stunningly beautiful.(I love you Aiden) She has a strong character yet she's very sensitive, she can be heartwarming, but she's can be very violent which I very much enjoy about her. She keeps me on the edge of my chair when she met her mother again. Will she kill her or not? That was always the question. It was very enjoyable. :)
During her practices with Aiden was also something I would wait for. She was a hardworking girl with so much talent in her. I'm very impressed with how the author was able to make a different main character. Most characters in other books are like, the girl would be gentle, kind, cute etc. They're very cliche. The author did a job well done.
Aiden
*sigh I give my hands to you. He was a standing ovation. Hot and gorgeous!!!
*cough (My fantasy)
"Chyna, I want you..." he said.
Shocked by his words. I swallowed hard. I could feel the beat of my heart, it raced so fast that I couldn't keep up. "No...We can't. The rules. I'm sorry."
"Screw those rules!"I could see the anger flare in his eyes. It held me tight, I couldn't turn away.
"Aiden, please I don't want you to get in trouble. Please I love you too much...."
He tried to kiss me, but I pulled away. "Chyna...." Then I ran away from him as far as I could. Tears started to smear my face. I wanted him too much that I ran away.
(LoL So fail)
Aiden is the most enjoyable character, he made everything complete. Without him in the story I would be bored to death. He gave me such a thrill. The love triangle between Alex, Aiden and Seth enticed me for more. I could tell that he loves Alex more than anything and that he's only pretending not to want her because of the breed order. He's not like those other Pures. He's not Pure by blood he's Pure at heart. I loved his personality. Cool and calm. Very much what I want for a guy. Alex and Aiden would always fight, but it was likely to happen with lovers. It was fated. :)
Seth
In every story there is always the douche bag. The hot Apollyon playboy was a very fun character. I imagined him as my sibling. The fun bro that would make my day. You would never miss Seth, he always stood out with his outgoing personality. Sometimes he's sweet sometimes he's cold. He's bi-polar. He cared for Alex as much as Aiden does. I felt so sad when Seth could feel whatever Alex felt. Poor Seth has to feel whatever Alex feels for Aiden. The author was so cruel to him. LOL. Seth isn't my favorite character, but I would always looked forward to the part when Seth and Aiden exchanged looks. Those icy glares were tempting. ;)
Half-bloods and Pures... It teaches us that even the rich and poor can be together. cliche much. This book really taught me a lesson and since I'm racist, I'm not even sure which to choose anymore. We can all learn something valuable in Half-Blood. Forbidden love is one of the most common situations in my family. What my dad says is followed. I bet you can relate to that. No one is too young for a little romance. We live a life of law and we are bound to obey it. Sometimes it's good to break a few rules. Live once in a while, man. ;)

So to end my review. Jennifer has this way of writing that would never bore you. She kept me guessing constantly. She's an amazing author. Half-Blood deserves a WOW from me. This book has everything I love. A simple romance, a mystery that would keep me guessing and an action drama I love to read. Jennifer delivers a wonderful new story line about forbidden love between a Pure and a Half-blood. Oh my goodness!!! Just buy this book!!!
5 Stars for you!!!
