If you’re looking for a
story about a good, humble girl, who’s been hurt by someone she thought
she could trust, only to find out she’s not as vulnerable as she
thought she was and discovers an empowering side of herself that falls
in love with the guy who helps her find that self, blah, blah,
blah...then you’re gonna’ hate my story.
Because mine is not the
story you read every time you bend back the cover of the latest trend
novel. It’s not the “I can do anything, now that I’ve found you/I’m
misunderstood but one day you’ll find me irresistible because of it”
tale. Why? Because, if I was being honest with you, I’m a complete
witch. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a friend using, drug
abusing, sex addict from Los Angeles. I’m every girlfriend’s worst
nightmare and every boy’s fantasy.
I’m Sophie Price...And this is
the story about how I went from the world’s most envied girl to the
girl no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in
the world.
*** “Hold me tighter,” I whispered against his teeth. He clutched me closer yet not tight enough. “More,” I demanded. He drew me firmer against him and I felt every ridge of his body. “Is that close enough?” he laughed into my throat. “Perfect,” I told him.
Gifted to me by Fisher Amelie
To know more about the author: Fisher Amelie resides in the
South with her kick ace husband slash soul mate. She earned her first
'mama' patch in 2009. She also lives with her Weim, 'Jonah', and her
Beta, 'Whale'. All these living creatures keep the belly of her life
full, sometimes to the point of gluttony, but she doesn't mind all that
much because life isn't worth living if it isn't entertaining, right?
Fisher
grew up writing. She secretly hid notebooks and notebooks of dribble in
a large Tupperware storage container in her closet as a kid. She didn't
put two and two together until after college where it suddenly dawned
on her, "Hey, I like writing". She's a bit dense. "No, I'm not." "Yes,
you are. Put down that Oreo, your butt can't take any more." "You're
rude." "Yeah, yeah." Anyway, she likes to write and has finally beaten
her self-esteem into submission enough to allow herself to be
scrutinized under the 'other readers' microscope. "No! No! Not a cover
slip! Last time it gave me a ra...." (mumbling)

My thoughts Plot The story is about Sophie Price, the rich girl from US. The girl who has it all and lost it all with just one *Snap* The girl from everyone wanted to a girl who everyone avoided. She was then brought to court for illegal using of drugs and now she has to serve in an orphanage in Africa for 6 months where she meets....*Not yet* This is one of the best stories I've read so far. At the beginning of the story I was really connecting with Sophie Price. She's the protagonist in the story, she's the slut/whore but yet so very sexy and a girlfriends's worst nightmare, but every boy's fantasy. She's a spoiled brat who was gifted with beauty which includes the bikini body (I'm trying to have one of those too). You don't want to mess with her if I were you. But under all that bitchiness she's really fragile...delicate...scared...confused...sensitive and maybe allergic to rejection. She's desperately vain.
WHY?!
She has everything, she has the looks, the status, the money...everything a girl would want to have. She was never happy with her life. Sophie drowned herself with drugs and sex. Maybe she wanted the attention, it devoured her. The lust consumed her...slowly swallowing her whole body and soul. She never wanted to be the person who she is now, but she can't help it since no one has ever looked at her as a real person, they look at her as a sex-friend like someone you can brag about having sex with, her parents never took notice of her or even glanced at her. My heart ached for her...for someone so beautiful to be so cruel to herself. (I wanted to cry for her) Sophie didn't care about her not having any real friends or having any real relationships. She wanted to be the Queen of everything, she thought that would be enough to bring her joy, but naught. It wasn't a healthy lifestyle for her, but it felt gratifying for her in a sense. Yet someone was able to save her. Someone taught her how to live.
WHO?
Dingane. (It is pronounce Din-John-E) I think? Nickname: Ian He is the sexiest boy on earth. Sophie couldn't help but think of nasty thoughts. Like his hands groping all over her body or his tongue tasting her insides. *Tingly* Meeting Dingane was not a coincidence in my opinion, it looked like a second chance for Sophie. To experience love...true love. Ian was this brooding jerk at first, but when he's with children from the orphanage. He becomes such a sweetheart. He's a refreshing character, quite different from the other books I've read. He's selfless, caring, demanding but very honest. The budding romance between Ian and Soph really gets you going. I didn't want to stop flipping the pages. I wanted more and MORE. I craved for more Ian and Sophie scenes, it just wasn't enough for me. The love between them is addicting. It wasn't those types of stories where the girl suddenly falls easily into the guy's arms. This was different. Sophie tried to make Ian one of her toys yet it backfires, she's the one head over heels. Both characters are brilliantly beautiful inside and out even if they couldn't see it, the reader will be astonished by both protagonists. It was crystal clear. Ian has hotness written all over him while Sophie has sexy painted all over her. They really did match well. It wasn't only because they were beautiful, but you could see them develop to a better person each day. Risking their lives for children they hardly know, caring for them and loving them. Amelie Fisher's story really touched me. The plot is somehow realistic to the real world and she teaches us a lesson from her story, from Sophie and Ian's story. Beauty isn't everything in the world neither is money. Somewhere out there...a child would be weeping. You might not hear it, but it will never cease to cry. Yet everyone pretends not be aware of it. I admit I am one of those people who pretends to be deaf. It really breaks my heart :( Amelie's way of writing brings comfort and sadness at the same time, the emotions of the casts really drives me in until I'm completely consumed. I even poured actual tears in chapter 25-26. The words in her story are inspiring and beautiful yet sad and comforting. It's a refreshing story about a girl who thought she had everything ended up helping kids in Africa from the Lord's resistance army. Who knew she could change in just 6 months?
A GORGEOUS STORY deserves 5 stars! Thank you Amelie! You really opened my eyes :) really sorry for the short review, but I really wanted to say more, but I don't know how to express it :(
