Summary:What if a ‘Once in a Lifetime’ could happen twice?
Suffering from a past full of tragedy, Dahlia London's soul has been left completely shattered. Happily ever after is a far cry from reality in her world. But, when she is reconnected with her past, the bonds that form are irrefutable.
When River Wilde, lead singer of The Wilde Ones, comes back into Dahlia’s life, the intensity that fires their relationship combined with underlying feelings that have never died lead her to believe she has met her soulmate.
Struggling with confusion as old connections fade and new ones begin, Dahlia's grief begins to lift--but guilt remains. River wants to be the one to mend all that is torn within her.
But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?
Stacking The Shelves!
I had no idea it was possible to get a signed digital review copy. I'm still laughing about it! So for this week I got a really big haul. For the Edge of Never I think there was a slight error since I was declined on Netgalley, but was able to get a review copy. For The Summer I Became A Nerd I requested from the publisher for a review copy, but was declined then the next day I was emailed that she changed her mind so I got a copy. So for this week I might have been super lucky. I also traded a few of my books. Okay...so if you have noticed I've been reading New Adult so I'm a pretty bad 16 yr old now...

But with a past that is never really gone, can their future survive?

One boy. One girl. One insignificant moment that changes their lives forever.
Bella and Clark are two young twenty-somethings, finding themselves in a chaotic and crazy world. One craves love; the other avoids it. Will they find one another, or will a single what-if moment send them down different paths?
In the same mould as Sliding Doors, Uncertainty, and Smoking/No-Smoking, Beyond Parallel flips between two parallel tales. One follows Bella and Clark as a couple, the other as if they never meet.
Friendships, careers, dreams, fantasies...their lives are no different to yours or mine.
Follow their journey over a fast paced, mazy two-years. Highflying careers, book tours, teaching teenagers, hipster warehouses, coffee shop hangouts, a despicable salesman...they're all confronted.
It's incredible how a small, everyday decision can affect how you look, where you live, the people you love, and who you become. We could all live a billion lives, but we’re only given one. Is it all a game of chance, or are Bella and Clark meant to be?

While fashion design major Caroline Hunter may have been born economically unlucky, in college, she’s been lucky in love. Until her senior year at Southern University. She’s gone from a serious long term boyfriend to a string of crappy dates.
Then she meets mathematics grad student Reed Pendergraft.
Reed is everything she’s not looking for. Serious. Headed for a low paying university job. Boring. Caroline spent the first eighteen years of her life wondering where her next meal was coming from. She sure wasn’t getting trapped in that life again with a man living on a professor’s salary.
An encounter with Reed in a club proves she might have pegged him wrong. He brings out a lusty side she never knew she had. But just when she’s about to give in to her hormones, Reed makes a fool out of her.
When she shows up for the first committee meeting for Southern University’s Fall fashion show, a fundraiser for underprivileged kids, Caroline’s horrified to discover the insufferable Reed is the committee chairman. While she refuses to tolerate his totalitarian rule of the committee, she’s not sure she’ll survive the month with her heart—and her pride—intact. Just when she thinks she has everything figured out, she finds that her entire life has been redesigned, thanks to Reed Pendergraft.
Chyna's Note:
Lite-Rate-Ture will be participating for the tour for Redesigned by Denise Grover Swank hosted by Inkslinger. Sidney, my part time reviewer will be reviewing the book while I will be reviewing Connected. Connected by Kim Karr has such a sexy cover, I was given a review copy by the publisher. Beyond Parallel by Matthew Turner will be reviewed on the month of June. I was also given a signed review copy by the author for my honest opinion. I'll let you know if it's worth my time. But it would help these amazing authors if you add their book to your goodreads shelf. Happy reading!

The Summer I Became A Nerd by Leah Rae Miller
Author: Leah Rae Miller

Format: PDF File
On the outside,
seventeen-year-old Madelyne Summers looks like your typical blond
cheerleader—perky, popular, and dating the star quarterback. But inside,
Maddie spends more time agonizing over what will happen in the next
issue of her favorite comic book than planning pep rallies with her
squad. That she’s a nerd hiding in a popular girl's body isn’t just
unknown, it's anti-known. And she needs to keep it that way.
Summer is the only time Maddie lets her real self out to play, but when she slips up and the adorkable guy behind the local comic shop’s counter uncovers her secret, she’s busted. Before she can shake a pom-pom, Maddie’s whisked into Logan’s world of comic conventions, live-action role-playing, and first-person-shooter video games. And she loves it. But the more she denies who she really is, the deeper her lies become…and the more she risks losing Logan forever.

My thoughts...
Thank you so much to Heather for giving me the last review copy for The Summer I Became A Nerd. I was thrilled that I had a copy of this standalone since it was all over my timeline a few weeks ago, but then passed the chance to review a copy from Netgalley.
First of all, the title kinda through me off because I don't have the energy to mouth the whole title, it's quite long...:P
Maddie holds a status in her school, she's you're "It Girl". She's dating a super hot quarterback and she's also surrounded by her circle of popular friends. But everyone holds a secret nowadays. Under that facade she's a nerd in a cheerleader's body. For 5 whole years she refuses to be humiliated again after that Halloween Costume Contest. During summer, it's the time when she lets her inner nerd lose! Her favorite comic just had a new release. Maddie wasn't all too bright about disguises. Her recklessness introduced her to the world of Logan Scott's. The super adorkable nerd who handles the comic shop. She can't help feeling so attracted to those cute freckles.
Suddenly sensing the attraction between two opposites brings a lot of hot drama.
This story was not your ordinary forbidden love since this romance was kinda possible, but less likely to happen. Maybe to the popular kids it would be forbidden for a nerd to be with a hot cheerleader. I loved the idea about the NerdCon where all nerds get together and fight imaginary fairies and elves. It's ridiculous, but adorable. I found myself consuming the whole novel in one day. I just couldn't stop giggling at the impossible chemistry between Maddie and Logan. I tried to savor the book, and I was very tempted to flip to the last page to see what happens.
Learning about the rankings in your average high school brings a lot of memories, I don't want to bring any drama bombs here. So basically if you're a queen bee you might want to check this book out. I learned quite a few valuable assets and perks about being popular and a nerd. The chemistry between Maddie and Logan brought those amazing butterfly moments into my stomach. I couldn't help myself, but slam my hands of the table and scream "Kiss damn it!" again and again. It was frustrating, but it kept me going. The heavy moments in the story was when Logan and Maddie were just trying to figure about what they were to each other. Maddie kept going back and fort which irritated me. Logan was hurt a lot of times just because of Maddie's ignorance, indecisiveness and selfishness. She just couldn't risk losing her circle of friends.
As much as I want to give this book a 5 star rating, I wanted the author to focus more as well on the secondary characters. The book basically poured itself onto the impossible romance between Logan and Maddie. The reason it was impossible was because of Maddie's circle of popular friends. I wish the author could have written more about her boyfriend and best friend. The background that Maddie has was full of holes. I had no idea how deep or valuable her friendship with Terra was. I also did not like how the author wrote Eric in the book. He seemed very insignificant, but he plays a huge wall separating the two lovers. Pushing that aside, this story is LIFE. CHANGING.
Logan Scott is my favorite character in the story. He's super sweet and I really want to smack my lips into his. I don't give a butterfly that's he a nerd. That's right I said butterfly. Reading this book in Maddie's POV is an advantage to the reader, I could really tell Maddie's emotions clearly. Especially when she's with Logan. It brings a lot of smiles whenever I see those two together in the book. Leah made sure that Logan and Maddie were perfect for each other.
I'd really get a copy right now if I were you. This will change your life forever. I'm offering a rating of 4.5 for this book. This is one the best books I've read in 2013. It was an excellent read, and if you don't believe me, I'm sure you all know that I have a reputation that I have grudge against contemporary novels. Leah did an amazing on this cliche novel. I had my laughs and tears. Touring around Maddie's world was exhausting, but the best!
